Field Operations Coordinator

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Springfield Cardinals are currently seeking candidates for its Field Operations Coordinator position. This position will coordinate with the Director of Field Operations and Operations department in the day to day maintenance of the playing field and stadium grounds to ensure playing conditions are safe for both players and coaches as well providing a clean well maintained stadium environment for the fans to enjoy their ball park experience.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Work with the Director of Field Operations on a daily basis to manage all field prep, including but not limited to turf management, fertilization, disease control, mound and plate maintenance, bullpen maintenance and Infield Skin management
  • Work with the Director of Field Operations to develop and execute a plan for maintaining outside stadium grounds. This includes any mowing, fertilizing, pruning and weed control of landscape beds as well as turf areas
  • Serve as the Field Coordinator during select MSU and Springfield Cardinals games. This includes communicating tasks to be done with Field Crew staff involving field prep, in game duties and post-game field clean up
  • Serve as the primary source of information for weather and communicating this information to the proper personnel
  • Grow company revenue through creative field usage and by working with vendors to maximize every dollar spent on products and services
  • Work directly with the operations department to ensure that all aspects of stadium maintenance are completed by assisting with any projects or events as needed, especially during the offseason. These projects may include painting, cleaning, setting up tables and chairs for any events as needed

Education & Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years prior experience in the Sportsturf industry
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Basic knowledge of turf grass and equipment usage
  • Good Time Management skills and ability to multi task

Education & Experience Preferred:

  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • 1-2 years prior experience in Sportsturf industry
  • Ability to coordinate employee tasks
  • Expanded knowledge of the processes of turf grass management and equipment usage
  • Excelled Time Management skills with the ability to process multiple tasks at any time
